To: All Beaver Valley District Scouters
The roundtable schedule gets back from summer break this Thursday, September 4 at the Park Presbyterian Church in Beaver. There will be pre-opening activities and information at 7PM, with the opening promptly at 7:30. I trust everyone had a good summer and spent time on activities with their scouts. In case you did not know, I attended a training conference at Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico and met many other scouters and BSA national staff. One of my fellow conference team is a volunteer in the NY-Northern NJ area and works with a large national electronics/appliance retail chain. Like the rest of us with real jobs and cell phones, he had a call with them to solve some problem and they got to talking about where he was and what we were doing. As it turns out, the sr. executive he was talking to at that company is an Eagle scout and decided to donate a washer/dryer to Phil for use in his district as a roundtable door prize. When he said there were about a dozen of us there that ran roundtables across the US, the Sr. exec & Eagle scout made arrangements at all of his national chain of stores to donate a washer/dryer for each of us for our roundtables to show his appreciation for what scouters do for the youth of our country.
SO AT THIS THURSDAY'S ROUNDTABLE, WE WILL RAFFLE OFF A WASHER/DRYER TO A BVD SCOUTER AS A DOOR PRIZE!!!
Please pass the word to all leaders in your unit so they can help you haul your prize home and get some important info for themselves.
We will also have a woodbadge bead ceremony at 8:45, so it will be a full night.
See you there!

 FOS
The Family Friends of Scouting season is once again upon us, many of you have your presentations coming up real soon, if your unit has not yet scheduled your date, please do so ASAP. We would like to have all presentations completed -by the end of April if possible. Please contact Jack Boyde 724 775-4623. This is a large part of our $82,000 goal for Beaver County with a goal for Family of $28,000. Thanks for your continued support in Beaver County.
 Spring Roundup !
Although summer is just around the corner, units should still be recruiting new youth. Now is the perfect time to get new Scouts excited about the program.
Summer camp, day camp, and Cub resident camp are great ways to entice youth to join the Scouting movement and have them participate in the best summer experience right from the start. Remember, the sooner a boy gets to camp, the longer he will stay in.
