Internet Rechartering

 

Renew the charter for your Pack, Troop, Team or Crew.

A representative of each unit can now process your charter online. The internet rechartering, you can indicate returning members, add new members and update information for an individual or chartered organization.

Just prior to your units charter renewal date, a roundtable program will feature training on Internet Rechartering. Each unit must select an adult to be its renewal processor; this adult must attend the training. Anyone who want to learn more about how the Internet Rechartering works can take the interactive Internet Rechartering tutorial and view the help.

Charter Turn In Meetings:
After you have completed entering your new information on-line, you will need to print out the charter and have it signed by the Chartered Organization Head and Unit Leader.  Bring the signed charter, applications for new Scouts or leaders and a the appropriate fees to your district's charter turn-in meeting.

To renew your charter online:

1. Sixty days prior to your units expiration date, select an adult to be your units renewal processor.

2.  The renewal processor attends the district roundtable to receive training and the unit access code.

3.  45 days before the unit's expiration date, the renewal processor clicks Recharter Now and begins the process. The Charter renewal process will only be available to units 45 days prior to your units expiration date.

4.  When the online process is complete, the renewal processor prints the completed charter renewal application.

5.  The unit leader and the chartered organization head sign the charter renewal application.  Bring the application, along with the materials you received in the charter packet (Quality Unit Award Application, Special Need Scouting Questionnaire) and all appropriate fees to your district charter turn-in meeting.

Safety Tips for the Internet Re-Charter Processor 

Before you Log on to Scout Net for the Internet Re-Charter Process; there are some important steps you need to take: 

(1) Make sure that your computer is up to date by installing the latest critical and security patches from our operating systems manufacturer. If you have Windows XP Operating System on your computer, make sure that your Windows Firewall is enabled.

(2) Make sure that your Anti-Virus software is up to date. Before you begin run a full hard drive scan.

(3) Install & Run Anti-Spyware software onto your computer; before you log on to Scout Net. Ex. SpyBot, Adaware, Microsoft Spyware Software 

(4) The following computer systems have no or very little network or internet security, so it is recommended that you do not use them for internet rechartering.

a.) Windows 95
b.) Windows 98
c.) Windows ME
d.) Windows NT 3.51
e.) Windows NT 4.0

System Availability. The ScoutNET system will be unavailable from 9 p.m. March 14 until 6 p.m. March 16 (CT). As a result, charter renewal processors using Internet Rechartering will not be able to load rosters from PAS during that time.
