Outdoor Adventure Opportunities at Laurel Caverns

Laurel Caverns

Laurel Caverns, Pennsylvania’s largest cave, is located only thirty-give minutes from Heritage Reservation and is proud to be a resource in its commitment to making a stay at Heritage both educational and exciting. Two high-adventure caving programs are offered.

Lower Caving

This challenging three-hour adventure covers almost three miles of cave, taking Scouts to the very bottom of the mountain. All participants must have had their 12th birthday and have the 14 point parentally-signed awareness form from at our website under caving. The cost is $19 per person.

Upper Caving

This three-hour adventure covers the entire lighted path, the upper undeveloped portion of the cave (Ballroom, Bat Room & Petit Falls) and an extensive maze of sandy floored “hands & knees” crawl passages just off the lighted trail. All participants must have had their 9th birthday and have the 7 point parentally signed awareness form found at our website under caving. The cost is $16 per person.

For both Lower Caving & Upper CavingTwo adults are minimally needed with each troop represented. All participants must be prepared with their own lights, shoes with good tread and ankle support, long pants and long-sleeved shirt, Laurel Caverns supplies the hard hats.
